As previously reported, the delegation of Vinnitsa region is on an official visit to the Republic of Poland in Lodz Province to participate in the IX European Economic Forum.
Today, on November 15, the delegation of Vinnitsa region with Latvian and Belarusian delegations in the framework of the forum, has participated in site visits to Lodz wholesale market "Zjazdowa", created on the initiative of representatives of trade and of local Lodz government. In the area of over 13 hectares, there are six trade and storage halls of the general consumer profile and two rooms for selling agricultural products. There are more than 500 trade stands and boxes on the territory of market with a standard area of 24m2. In addition, there is a logistics room, refrigeration chambers, warehouses and place of the laboratory working on the territory. 170 wholesalers and 3,000 farmers work successfully on the market.
After the visit to the wholesale market, the delegation took part in exhibitions, held in parallel with the Forum. Also during the visit, the delegates visited the Lodz service station of the regional railway, which is considered one of the most modern in Europe. The station director briefed the guests with the history of the station, showed one of the trains, and described the system of its management and non-waste technology of cleaning the train, in which only 10 m3 of water is been used. This water is then processed and re-used at the station.
After the service stations of the Lodz regional railway, Ukrainian and Belarusian delegations visited FERSO fund, whose main goal is to support the sustainable development of civil society through education, art and media technology.
Representative of the Fund, Mr. Jaroslav Vaschyk, briefed the delegates with activity of the Fund and the ways of realization of its objectives, including the organization and funding of seminars, workshops and training courses.
Mr. Vaschyk paid a special attention to the programs for volunteers, because the largest number of volunteers of the Fund is precisely from Ukraine, Moldova, Romania and Belarus. In addition, the Fund members of foreign delegations met with Mr. Andrew Kallatay - President of the Polish Chamber of Tourism. During the meeting, Mr. Kallatay expressed the great interest in the medical health centres and resorts in Vinnitsa region, as well as the tourist attractions of the region for the implementation of tourist routes from Poland to Vinnitsa region and vice versa.
